I performed a quick hard drive rebuild for a fellow Truff member and for speed I copied vitriol's settings for the .ini file straight in. The results were somewhat interesting, but not what we were seeking.
For a "safe" set of settings for the OpenGL renderer I used these (old ones) from the unrealtrournament.com site:
[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
UseS3TC=True
UseTNT=False
MinDepthBits=16
MaxLogUOverV=8
MaxLogVOverU=8
UseMultiTexture=True
UsePalette=True
UseAlphaPalette=False
ShareLists=False
AlwaysMipmap=False
DoPrecache=0
Translucency=True
VolumetricLighting=False
ShinySurfaces=True
Coronas=False
HighDetailActors=True
DetailTextures=True
UseTrilinear=True
MaxAnisotropy=0
SupportsLazyTextures=0
GammaOffset=0.000000
LODBias=0.000000
MaxTMUnits=0
RefreshRate=0
DisableSpecialDT=False
UseFilterSGIS=False
Use4444Textures=False
UseVertexSpecular=False
UsePrecache=False
Description=NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro
These settings can be tweaked later with refernce to the Unreal Tournament Tweak Guide:
http://www.techspot.com/tweaks/ut/index.shtml
To alter a setting in UT:
Tools >> System Console >> Type "preferences" ( and enter ), This brings up the Advanced Options.
Expand Rendering >> OpenGL Support.
Here is an example of how I altered the "Coronas" setting:
