vitriol is off the scale
Default

glad it sorted it for you

oh btw Ati have removed Truform support from the 5.9 drivers onwards

so UseTruform=True will no longer work. Another great Ati Technology that should have been used more often.

I performed a quick hard drive rebuild for a fellow Truff member and for speed I copied vitriol's settings for the .ini file straight in. The results were somewhat interesting, but not what we were seeking.

For a "safe" set of settings for the OpenGL renderer I used these (old ones) from the unrealtrournament.com site:

[OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]
UseS3TC=True
UseTNT=False
MinDepthBits=16
MaxLogUOverV=8
MaxLogVOverU=8
UseMultiTexture=True
UsePalette=True
UseAlphaPalette=False
ShareLists=False
AlwaysMipmap=False
DoPrecache=0
Translucency=True
VolumetricLighting=False
ShinySurfaces=True
Coronas=False
HighDetailActors=True
DetailTextures=True
UseTrilinear=True
MaxAnisotropy=0
SupportsLazyTextures=0
GammaOffset=0.000000
LODBias=0.000000
MaxTMUnits=0
RefreshRate=0
DisableSpecialDT=False
UseFilterSGIS=False
Use4444Textures=False
UseVertexSpecular=False
UsePrecache=False
Description=NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro

These settings can be tweaked later with refernce to the Unreal Tournament Tweak Guide: http://www.techspot.com/tweaks/ut/index.shtml

To alter a setting in UT:
Tools >> System Console >> Type "preferences" ( and enter ), This brings up the Advanced Options.

Expand Rendering >> OpenGL Support.

Here is an example of how I altered the "Coronas" setting:

Default Re: UT Open GL Resources

Ive been using Open GL for a while (got it off shad) and after running in choppy d3d, it was magic, smooth as butter. There is one anomily that a found since using this renderer and untill now I havent got off me ass to find out about it. Had no joy googlin' so I wrote to the mindspring addy. ....This is what I said:

Hi there, since using openGL for UT99 I have noticed that (apart from making the game so much smoother on winXP and newer hardware, many thanx to all who have helped develope it) there is a really annoying bug. well maybe its just me but If I taskbar the game (win key) more than 2 times I get what I can only describe as 2 crosshairs moving at different speeds. one is my yellow game crosshair, and the second is the annomily, which is kinda like a white crosshair. I tried to take a screenie to show someone but it dont show up. Im no expert on these matters but its kinda looks like its my desktop cursor coming through into the game but its being displayed as a white crosshair. Plz let me know if u have heard or experienced this annomily and if there is a fix. Here is as much info as I can give. Hope it helps:

Specs

WinXP Pro (sp2)
Abit IC-7 800fsb mobo
P4 2.8Ghz Prescot
1024Mb Corsair PC3200
Gainward Nvidia FX5700 (Drv 66.93)

I've attached the open GL zip ive been using for a year now because Im not actually sure what version it is (2.* i think). Plz help, this is the only game ive ever loved, and I play it online every night (multiplay uk servers).

P.S. Im not sure if it's worth mentioning but I just installed the OMP-UGOLD-V0.2 on my Unreal Gold (so I could run it in OpenGL) and hey presto, I can taskbar that game till the cows come home without any probs. Not sure if its a different engine or what but I just thought I would mention that aswell. anyways, I've prob bored u silly so I'll get off now. Many thanx again coz all bugz aside I can enjoy this game much better that running in juddery D3D.

Regards,
Gyp (irc- quakenet - #mpukunreal)

....aint had a reply yet but im hoping. If anyone here knows anything plz let me know. Take care all
