Why dont many people use the feign button. I use it quite alot myself like when i have the flag and the other team has the flag as then i will feign and if the other person with the flag wants to get a cap 8 times out of 10 a lesser skilled player will go straight to their flag spot and try to cap when its their flag is returned and usually then my team are usually in their base around their flag spot looking for the FC. More experienced players will know i have jus feigned to frop the flag or look at the text at the top to see if i was really killed. But it puts them off for that split second and all anyone needs to kill an fc. Feigning has also back fired on me like when i feign death and then an enemy comes around the corner and kills me & returns the flag before i can get back up and kill him. So i usually find a decent spot before i feign.

Don't have time to feign death - too busy dying for real

Agreed not alot of ppl use it which is a shame as its a good tactical thing. Admittedly i rarely use it also as i find it a struggle to find a secure place.
Im going to add a teamsay bind to my feign button os ppl know to pick it up i think - some ppl kinda walk past you when you do it lol

Other usage:
Last week on Coret, I killed about 8 enemies before I finally took there flag. The way out was even worse, backup arrived but died very quickly. Luckely I managed to fight my way out of there base and even survived midfield.
Home free I thought, went into our base and was about to jump down and got shot in the back, long range kill. But my team m8, took it over.
I respawned near our flag and he fained let me have the cap 8)
Very nice gesture and think should be more common as well. I forgot his name though

Sometimes i feign in just before i leave the enemy base because u get those attackers who will wait in mid until the flag is dropped. so when i feign they think whoever killed me will return the flag so the enemies in mid carry on attacking instead of waiting to take me out in mid. Its worked for me a few times on face low grav jus before i do the jump across because as always when the flag is taken u have about 2 or 3 people looking high waiting for u to jump across. I also did this on dday_ce i feigned in the little lookout tower and everyone seems to think im dead so they carry on attacking, so i jus pick it back up and make a run for it.
Im not a good killer so any chance i can make that has less people on my back ill take.

I know alot of you don't play assalt, but feign deathing comes very handy .. Some people walk straight past you when your feign deathing, which allows you to have an easy owning of the base ..

do you play instagib..? As taking the flag and getting it out of the base on insta is ver hard :? but on Face Low grav i never go up top i go middle  im usually one the of the only people that actually pay attention when the flag is taken....the rest of my team just attack and leave me to kill the FC  but i get blamed if they cap :( Face low grav is one of my fav maps so i like killing people when they flip of top....
It is a good strategy. Unfortunately, I only use it when the phone rings or in Jailbreak when I am incarcerated

*lol* at Mr_Spoons's comment. :)
I use it rarely, like Valheru mentioned in the first post - to (try to:) confuse the EFC when there's a long stalemate going on (what I mean is, you know, two FCs, waiting for their home flags to return). Will have to try the other Valheru's usage on face-low-grav, sounds good. :)
Headshot: That's really nice, yes. Something similar happened to me only once and if I remember correctly, I have to thank Tynee for the kind gesture. :)
Then there's the (short) phone calls, hehe, like Dot mentioned.
There's also another usage, for the confident brave players. It depends on the map, but sometimes when (again) there's a stalemate going on and you get a bit bored, you could just drop the flag somewhere 'safe' and try fighting the EFC yourself, come back and score. (I don't dare doing that myself, though.:)
And this last example raises a question, does anyone know how long does it exactly take (in seconds I guess) before the flag returns to the base by itself?

Feigning death in the middle of an instagib match (any gametype bar bunnytrack) is the worst mistake anyone can make (unless doing a favour or something along those lines).
Generally people tend to explode into giblets when shot, not to lie down on the *clean* floor!
hahaha

:
We not talking about feigning death to fool people your dead r we talking about other tactical uses that feigning could be used for.
Ive Feigned a few times on the plank to the blue flag on caves when i have the flag and there are 2 or 3 of the enemy facing me cus i know i wont get both or all 3 so i just feign let them kill me when ive not got the flag jus so none of them get the flag kill points (cus you know how some people jus love flag kill points).

I will always take my chances, no matter if there 3 or 5 enemies in my base. You never know what will happen, sometimes you will pull it off even making your laugh harder.
But I like your tactic m8. It makes absloutly sence to me even in a instagib match with bloody body parts all over the place :)
I think people should use this more often indeed. Most of the time your chasers or enemy attackers will stop the search when they see you dropped the flag, assuming that there team m8 who "shot" you will return it home safely. On some maps with certain routes you will be 90% assured that the route is more safer for sure 8)

I use feign death quite often, It's just that most peeps know that a players name who is feigning death comes up on the screen when close enough and they just blast you to bits.
You may find this useful. I have a special bind that when I press the "feign death" key, I automatically drop a weapon at exactly the same time, it makes it look a lot more realistic.
