My “suggestion to be made admin” seemed like a good idea to me, but when I let Scion know I was ready to accept the challenge, he chickened out claiming it was me misinterpreting his words… Too bad though, I think I would have made a great LIMITED TRUFF admin…

TheRealDavid, I agree on you that one’s opinion is something very value and should be respected, but the whole point of this thread is that I want everyone to be nice and even nicer to each other. That includes that I want other people to be friendly to me… If we all keep pointing fingers to one and another then all these arguments will only last on forever and noone would profit of that…

I do not believe the previous thread had reached it goal, but that’s only my opinion… I for one do not see any reason to close an open dialogue… It feels to me like hiding for the truth once it reaches the point where you can no longer control it… I believe people should always keep talking, because times change and so do people but together we can stand strong…

I don't see the comparison with German soldiers. As I said before, the problems you have had are of your own making. If you are interested in learning then start taking on board what people are saying to you. Your posts are becoming more "Troll" like; I get the impression you are here just to argue. If you do not like the way the servers are run here, with players who spoil other people's fun being removed, then delete the Truff servers from you favourites list and go and play somewhere else. Otherwise knuckle down and play within the server rules.

Well Said, Sci, Shad, Drussander (love your family guy references, BTW), Jeanie, and Druss. Hopefully this clown will go and find other servers and see how they are, then realize what a great community TrufF's is. CWL, it sounds like youre taking this WAYYY too personally. From what I gather, you were NOT treated any differently than other lamers, in fact youve been given a great deal of tolerance from the admins because theyve been listening to you go on and on and on in this forum (usually once a thread is locked, you CAN'T get in a final word), not to mention theyre doing it on their own time, which could be spent on other things.

A few of my observations to note about the admins -

They're indiscriminate. For example: I too have been asked to stay off the n00b server, and last week when I was on there just baiting and helping real n00bs (showing them where stuff was, how to telefrag, etc), I was booted as soon as the admin who kicked me showed up. Doesnt matter who you are - break the rules and youre GONE.

They give you fair warning. Ive seen many, Many, MANY warnings to lamers, followed by zero-frags, followed by a kick. People who think they can get away with crap are WRONG. Everyone gets a chance to comply. Theyre like robocop :)

It's not one person. Almost every episode like this that arises is handled by several admins, and i get the impression that its discussed outside of the forums we as mere mortals can see. When one admin says something out of line or in anger, there are several lined up ready to keep an eye focused on the issue and not get personal. In the end, they all pretty much agree on whether a ban or whatever occurs, and when they dont agree, everyone gets a chance to offer their thoughts.

So many bans Ive seen on these forums are accompanied by words like "after some time passes, if you can prove that you can play by the CoC's, you can come back..." or some such, proving that even those that have acted in a manner that results in a ban are welcomed back. Even those that havent been banned - for example: a former ssc member was causing some major problems not too long ago, and now he mostly offers constructive posts that are informative, intellegent, and welcomed by most, including myself! For a privately managed group of servers to be so tolerant of wrongdoers, again at their own expense of time and money is almost unheard of! A lot of servers out there serve only as training grounds for clans. THere is no more well-rounded place to play than TrufF's.

CWL, let this stuff go, play by the CoC's, and have fun... this is a place you can play hard, get better, get pwn'3d, do some pwn'ing yourself, and ultimately JUSTHAVE FUN!

Ok, my final words on this subject as i was the first person who had the pleasure of receiving your views on "Women & Power"


After reading through both threads and wondering why you have made this such an issue, i can only guess to your reasons. Truffs was the 1st place i ever played UT online, i was completely new & was SO scared of playin on an open server. Truffs Newbie server became my home.....friendly people made me feel welcome, taught me how to play online, and gave me the courage not to give up tryin :D Because of this, Truffs became my home because of the great "family" support network of admin & members. Finally i became a member & i wear my [TrufF] tag with pride 8)

I am not an admin, to be honest i wonder if i would have enough paitence to be one, but without them, Truffs wouldnt be the sort of place id say for long. Ive played on other servers many times (like NOC & Boomtown to name a few) but i always find them full of Leet Ownage Whores who dont give a damn about fun of UT, just their Frag Counts :evil: But Truffs is different! So much so ive become a Truff Subscriber, puttin more of my hard earnt cash into these servers and the ethos this community lives by!

Actually myself and most of the others who have posted exersize quite a substantial amount of tollerance, however players who come on to servers dishing out abuse, playing in a non-friendly manner and being rude about long standing members who are highly respected..........that does push peoples tollerance to the limits.

It seems I've missed the beginning of this latest convo but I take it some people are upset but getting over it. Please don't bother filling me in because I really don't care as long as Uni is kewl with everything.

I just wanted to point out it's rather refreshing to see whinges from people of intellegence...even if we disagree with them. I'm so tired of whinges that are poorly written, totally mis-spelled and lacking proper punctuation.

I do believe CWL could be a member of this community (if he wanted to) once he realizes how things work here. That we are one big happy (and sometimes dysfunctional) family and the admins run around acting as big brothers try to protect our members, community and servers from lame ass idiots.

BTW CWL, I'm a server mod so I'm not just blowing smoke up your a**. Keep the faith and we'll keep ours and maybe we can find some happy medium inbetween.

damn some very nice posts all round :) makes me wish i never took a few days off lol, apologies CWL i felt the topic was going off the whole point and as i couldnt see you on the forums and you hadn't posted in a while felt it was safest to lock the topic b4 i went away.

some ineteresting if controversial points of view you have and i have to say i have alot of respect for your comments and posts they are rather good and nothing like the usual crap we get around here, i would agree with turbos comments about you and would hope can become a member of the community one day.

we do encourage different points of view here and as such your comments are not unwelcome, as you said it is only through others we know ourselves and that is as true as anything anyone has ever said, just to reiterate one thing though the admins around here are amongst the best anywhere on the net and this is because they each have a different point of view which they are not afraid to express to the rest and because of the admin support structure which is the best i have ever seen online.

try and remember the admins are still only human and sacrifice much of their own time and money to keep this a fun and friendly place to play, as such foremost in their minds is the fact that everything they do should be in the best interest of the community as a whole, this is why discussions such as this are allowed and given a place to be on our forums, were we another community (a few i can think of but won't name) this subject would never have got started :)

the nazi/german references were particularly harsh i felt, in particular in case of fact that everything is done by a commitee/debate rather than by an individual person around here and that different points of view are not suppressed but rather encouraged.

as for the admin job i dont think for a minute anyone but you thought you would be given the power to kick players from these servers, they all know how hard it is to become one in the first place, it takes months/years to get to know the ppl in the community and become trusted enough that it is felt you would serve the community best as an admin, anyone who really knows me will tell you i have never chickened out of anything as you so aptly put it but the challenge requires you to make the effort to set up, run and admin your own server lol.

so just to clarify one more thing ALL the admins barring one or two are LIMITED, this is how we keep the balance amongst the admins, some however are more LIMITED than OTHERS but this doesnt mean they are any less respected or listened too buy the other ADMINS.

Hmmz, yeah it had been slightly over 24 hours between those 2 posts when you closed it but that was because I woke up around 6:00, left home around 7:00, traveled for about a hour and went back home around 20:00 most of the time last week. And sometimes inbetween that time I can post but not always... So anyway; No Problem Scion!

Yeah, it's true that on other forums threads get closed much easier just to avoid certain discussions. I've witnessed that before :) And tbh; I do not have the time nor the financial resources to accept such a challange 8O

I haven't got a clue on how to become a member of the community, but who knows? Maybe one day indeed...
