Im currently in the process of revising for 9 1/3hr law exams and am running into trouble trying to remember names, dates, statutes and principles as well as terminology as the progress through my file goes on, and ive still got another 3 subjects to revise for after this one. Just wondering if any of you have any good tips on revising material for which ever subject, i know everyone has their own way of learning, just interested to see what other people use to help them remember things.

PS: I think this takes the prize for most tedious and boring post so far on the forums

I revised for my criminal law exams by using flash cards.

I used a diffrent colour card for each subject and then wrote my case law with relavant info on each card. I then just simply tested myself for a couple of hours each night for a couple of weeks.

To finish off I wrote a random scenario and applied my case law to it.

Hope this helps

I dont know if this will help, but this is how I study for certain history exams...I have had great success using these tedious but effective methods.

1. I buy a notebook for each exam

2. I relentlessly write out the details....over and over and over and over

3. I recite the notes out loud until I have them memorized...or close to it.

4. I review the notes in my head all day long, while driving, shopping, cooking ...whatever.

5. I keep reminding myself that I only have to do this for a short time leading up to the exam, than its over (till next time)

My last history exam result was a 97%.

(5.5) I spam the forums....good break from the work

I always try and remember that school is all about jumping through the hoops in order to get where you want to be. Sometimes it is fun, other times not so much...keep the end goal in mind. A lot of serious work now will pay off big time later on.

I dont study like this for everything by the way, just on exams that I know to be heavy with names, dates and the like.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses, the problem im running into now is that i currently have well over a thousand pages of notes for the last two years, and going through all of them and condensing them will take me longer than i have left to revise before the exams. Saus, i kinda do the same thing as you, i record all my notes now onto my ipod and listen to them, sounds kinda sad, but it helps as i remember the rough jist near enough straight away with the details becoming clearer the more i listen to them. The essay im writing at the moment has taken me about 2 hours now and spans 15 pages, if id have known law would require this much work, id have gone to work at macdonalds....
